A little nice thing this week, Kask have decided to support What! Summer Camps in Folgefonna, Norway. Last year it was the starting up year, and a lot of things had to fall in the right place to get it going. A little bit unlycky with the weather did not stop the athletes, and mixing the skiing shred up with trampolin, skate and chilling, it was still a succsess.

This year its getting fully booked, and the organizers are really looking forward to two weeks of great action!

Skiers cup

The Swatch Skiers Cup, the first-ever continental team freeski event, will return to Valle Nevado (Chile) from 1 to 9 September 2012 and see 16 of the world’s best freeskiers competing in both Big Mountain and Backcountry Slopestyle to bring back home the treasured Swatch Skiers Cup trophy.

The 2 teams of 8 Riders, led by captains Mark Abma (Team Americas) and Sverre Lilliequist (Team Europe), will battle in a series of man-to-man duels in the Chilean Andes. A rider winning his duel scores one point for his team and the team with the most points at the end of the 2-day competition gains possession of the Swatch Skiers Cup trophy for one year.

All 16 Freeskiers have been hand-picked by Captains Mark and Sverre. Teams' composition was announced last week-end at Xtreme Verbier, finals of the Swatch Freeride world Tour 2012.

This winter is the 2:nd year Kask is sponsoring the Freerideworldtour, FWT.

In this partnership, Kask is the official beanie and headband supplier, and we designed a special FWT design with the tour logo on it.

These products is presented in the Kask line, but also at every stop at the FWT and all FWQ events as well.

Erik is our Telemark hero, this time he made it over to the US and the Tewa winter Mountain Games. See some of the action in this little film.

Besides this Erik went for a road trip in Colorado and skied pow, Silverton delivered the goods and they crew got what they was aiming for, face shots :-)

Keep an eye on Mr Nordin, he is one of a handful really talented Telemarkers that will keep on shredding with the heel loose!

Hej

Jag vill bara tacka för mig och för bra dag i Sälen i fredags. Vi var ett gäng som åkte lagg tillsammans, och även om det var isigt och blåsigt funkade det bra!

Karolis från Skidgymnasiet i Malung hänge med jib kidsen, och jag carvade runt med resten. Sen blev det Salomon rail session utanför butiken på Sälfjällstorget, prisutdelning och sist men inte minst så visade jag vår senaste film, Très bonne Équipe!

Swatch FWT goes to Röldal this weekend

This weekend it´s time again for the Swatch Freeride World Tour to hit the steeps. This time they will go to Röldal in Norway, and hopefully the condisions will allow a great show again. The word is out that they are expecting a lot of fresh snow, so things definately looks promising. Keep an extra eye on Christin Hargin who will represent the Kask Friends Team this time :-)

Co-labs blir allt vanligare i sportbranschen. Ett av de senaste är samarbetet mellan svenska Kask och norska Sweet Protection som inför nästa säsong matchar en Sweethjälm med ett par Kaskgoggles.

Sweet hyllar till hösten Kasks två friåkande grundare Kaj Zackrisson och Sverre Liliequist med en specialversion av sin Igniterhjälm. Förutom att hjälmen fått en Sweetlogga som är anpassad till Kasks formspråk passar den utmärkt med Kasks nya goggle Mask 4 Charger.

Mask 4 Charger har hämtat sin inspiration från amerikanska muskelbilar och har fått ordentligt breda straps som gör att de sitter ordentligt fast på hjälmen. I ramen och på linsen finns bilinspirerade luftintagshål som tillsammans ska ge gogglesen en perfekt ventilation. Linsen är sfärisk för att ge användaren så brett synfält som möjligt.

BIG UP for Kask friend Wille Lindberg who started this season out in a great way. After a powder skiing session in Japan with friends Christine Hargin, Adam Widén and Olof Larsson he went to the 4 star FWT event in La Clusaz and went away witn the win!

Wille is of course riding with our Kask goggles, his favourite is this Mask 3.

Now there is a lot of various great double lenses available on the Kask webshop HERE , its just to order and it will be sent out to you right away.

The system we use for different sun protection is called VLT (Visible Light Transmission).

The lower % there is, the darker and more protective agains the sun the lens will be :-)

Gearing up for the winter

I went back to Alpingaraget last weekt to get my new Nordica skiboots in shape. Mange is the man when it comes to skiboots fitting and he has helped me out thru my entire career.

Im now changing boots from traditionally racing boots to a little bit softer version, three buckle freeride boot. But to be sure the fit is optimal, I did a foamliner in it.

Now it´s just to hope for some snow right!? We have the Kask International Sales meet coming up in about three weeks, this time up in Åre, hopefully the slopes will be white, thats not the situation rignt now I guess.

Since there is no snow around, I went back to local surf spot Torö this morning. It´s sucha a beautiful place!

My cousin Oscar and I watched the sunrise and listening to the beating of the waves with a nice cup of coffe. Friend Joey and Arvid showed up and we dressed for succsess.

I was wearing my KASK 200gr MERINO LONGJOHNS AND CREWNECK under the wetsuit, and it worked out just perfect in the 7 degrees cold water.

We spent some hours in the ocean and the waves was just getting better and better, but my arms and sholders went totally dead after a while, but still it was a great workout!

A very good day, and some nice pics from my little pocket camera :-)

Swedish Wave Surf Nationals!

Yes, we have some waves in Sweden, and today the Swedish Nationals was held at Torö Stenstrand.

As a proud sponsor with Kask I went down with my family to cheer them on, it´s only a 45 min drive from my home in Stockholm.

Weather was great, 12 degrees warm in the air and about 7 in the water, there was some nice rippin to watch!

Im pretty sure the athletes aprreciated their Kask beanies while up on the beach again though ;-)

This is the first time we launch the Baselayers, 100% Merino and GREAT colours guaranteed.

There is two different weights we are working with at this stage with the baselayers, 200gr/m2 and 300gr/m2.

My personal favourite is the mens Onepiece, I skied in it 9 out of 10 days last winter, and it ROCKS! It almost never smells, and if so I just put it in the machine wash 40 C and it comes out as fresh as new...

Of course there is a ton of new beanies, socks and goggles and more as well, have a look and hopefully enjoy :-)

Yes, people seems to really like this Calle Skalle graphics! It´s not only making feets look better, but also this handsome dude from our customer in Gesunda Sportshop let some ink hit his body, looks pretty sick to me :-D

Now we are taking photos of all the new products to be able to make the catalogue for 12/13, and yes, Calle Skalle is still representing in our Kask line. This will be showed later at the Ispo tradeshow in Munic in feb 2012.

Small recap of the Skiers Cup

So, now we have done it. Kaj and I had this idea of a team event for a few years, the big yearly challenge between Team Europe ad Team Americas, and now finally it happened.

We went to Santiago Chile and skied up in Valle Nevado, it's a nice little ski resort only 1,5 hour drive form the Santiago city centre.

The concept of the event is pretty simple; match racing between one skier from each team, and the better of the two wins one point for his team.

It is a two-day event, one big mountain day and one slope style backcountry day.

Anyway, the main purpose of the whole trip was to gather some great skiers and personalities and to have a lot of fun, showing off in the discipline you are best in but also to get out of the comfort zone a little bit and try to push yourself in the other discipline as well.

So, two days of skiing action, some helicopter flying from the city all the way up into the mountains, the starting gate was placed at aprox 4000m above sea level.

Besides the skiing action we had a pretty sick setup, the hotel was really to notch!

We spent two days at the ocean, surfing, chilling, having asado barbecue, some parties, city strolling, super nice 10 days I must say.

Thanks to SWATCH who believed in this concept, without them this would never have happened.

Now we are really looking forward to the outcome of this event, there will be a 24 min long film that will be covered in numerous film channels all over the world, and if people like it, the Skiers Cup will go on for many years in the future.

We are having a blast!! It is so much fun things going on at the Skierscup it is hard to describe but with 16 of the worlds finest skiers we stay at 5 star hotel in Santiago. With new events every day happening. Monday we flew Heli deep into the Andes and had the Big mountain day, good snow fast skiing big cliffs = thrilled. Tuesday we drove to the coast and surfed followed by a BBQ when the sun set into the pacific. Wednesday ski shredding with the crew in Valle Nevado. Thursday surf skate swim at the mall of sports in Santiago.

Hello again! Wow it has been a long great summer that we spent most of the time outside, and not so much in front of the computer.

Personally I have been training a little bit to prepare for the upcoming Skierscup!, been out flyfishing a bit and spent time with family.

In august we had a Kask sales meeting and now we are welcoming Said and Anna to Kask, the little company is getting stronger and stronger and ready to expand ;-)

Right now Im so curious about the new baselayers in 100% Merino that will get into the shops any week now, this is a new premium Kask product that Kaj & I have been using everyday skiing the past two years, and finally it will be out for You as well now.

Hi!

Now its on again, for it´s 20th time, the Scandinavian Freeskiing Championships in Riksgränsen, Sweden!

This is a really cool event and a lot of our Kask FRIENDS is there to compete, and we will try to follow up on what is going on there of course.

Wille Lindberg and Adam Widén is two guys that are in the hotspot for mens ski, and Adam is actually also doing the snowboard event.

Christine Hargin is our biggest hope in the womens ski event. So, follow them on their blogs and of the good freeride community Freeride for interviews, pics, results and more.

Let the games begin!

As always the mountains showed us all the weather types they have. When the wind was hauling and snow coming verticaly we had to use our routine to calm ourselves but hey we got some time for designing the new Kask collection. After a few days with the colour swatches at the hotel we finally got to go skiing, our goal was to get into the Kebenkaise area, it looked promosing flying in but a cloud system did build up again. Insted of skiing we found the worlds oldest science station for glaciers so we had an six hour coffe and then flew back home,,,,

Next day our luck turned around and we got some runs in the sun and an incredible experience of skiing the highest peak in Sweden Kebnekaise. All in all our last shoot on snow for the Très bonne Équipe movie was awesome.

Hello

Today we arrived in Riksgränsen with train. 18 hours ago we entered the wagon in Stockholm that brought us all the way up north.

From springtime to winter.

It´s kind of windy at the moment...But we hooked up with a friend Jonathan for some rando action to get the bodies prepared for the coming days of heli skiing action! (we hope).

The reason we are here is to get on with the filmproject Très bonne Équipe, and a lot of our freeskiing adventures started up here in Riksgränsen in 1998.

This weekend I went down with my cousin and our old friends to Ski Lodge Engelberg. Soo lucky, there was no people, full on spring sunny weather, and about 35cm of cold fresh pow!

This was a weekend to remember, and my thoughts go to Stefan, who was so unlycky to break his akilles and also had a fracture in his neck. They were really nice with him at the hospital in Luzern, and now hes back in Stockholm for healing in the Swedish capital.

the final at the winterpark in oslo went on with a smooth jam session in the special build rail world build for the occasion. It looked like everyone was a winner but Torjus Riise took the victory in the snowboard class and in the ski category Niklas won. The park will be open through easter so enjoy skiing in the capital of norway.

We had an awesome weekend in the ski capital of Sweden where we participated in Åre High Five by carlsberg. The best skiers from Sweden was on the start with a mix from the national ski team to freeriders even the ski touring team had their speed suits on then of course the heroes were all the amateurs that made the day complete. We competed in skiercross, sled cross, speed ski, cross style and the final was dual slalom. I did ok but sucked in sledding and speed ski,,, but me and Sverre hosted a TV show so check it out on TV6 at 10th of april - in Sweden!

Verbier FWT finals

Last weekend it was the freerideworldtour finals in Verbier, Switzerland. I got a wildcard this time, so for the 7th time I was competing in Verbier. Kaj was coatching this time :-)

Condisions were ok, and the women started from the ridge on the skiers left side. Kask Friend Christine Hargin was the first one out, and she did great! After all the chicks had been riding, it stood clear she was runner up after her bigger sister Janette. BIG UP for the sisters!

After that it was the mens turn, from the very top at Bec de Rosses. It was the french who dominated this time, I skied well but crashed in my last air... Aurelien won well deserved, and also ended up as the world overall champion!

This weekend I skied the FWT comp in Fieberbrunn. It was pretty crazy times, about +15 degrees outside, sunny and spring time. But the face hold together well, the organization did a great job, and there was thousands of spectators, great event!

For me it ended in a crash this time, but my Nordica team mate, and ALSO KASK FRIEND Stefan Hausel won the ski division, and also KASK FRIEND MITCH TOELDERER won the snowboard, ye-haa!

Train adventure

The train took us to Davos and Klosters, we knew they got some fresh snow. We got sunny weather right away so we started hiking some lines but soon found out that the snowpack was very shallow, we hit a lot of rocks. But as the veterans we are we found some angles on the mountains with a better base and we could enjoy powder skiing again. This was absolute a good ski area with a lot of various terrains and possibilities. Today i was back in Oslo to enjoy the flatland ski party at Holmenkollen, Con grats Norway on the victorious week/ kaj

I am skiing in the alps as i did many times before but this time we travel by train in Switzerland with Salomon freeski tv. We started out in zurich headed to Engelberg where the snow pack seemed to be best. We got lucky with a huge dump just when we arrived, a few days of skiing in the storm then it cleared and we got a perfect day with sunshine and powder. After that we moved on to Andermatt for a two days stop, good snow but not the best light so we enjoyed the fasnacht party! Waking up strong againg we took the glacier express train and travelled east, next resort report will follow:-)

This is some pictures from my recent trip to Greece. We had fog every day, but the few hours we saw the sun, was totally worth it!
Different trip, with super friendly people, fun terrain, lots of good food and Greek moonshine. I have a sore foot, and will take one month off from skiing now. Hope to be back in April!

I have now been home in Stockholm for some time, after Ispo. Here its super cold and tons of snow, but no mountains!

So, I have been taking care of my poor body, doing what i can do to stay in shape for the coming event in Kirkwood, CA.

Leaving tomorrow, Im really full of energy, AND it has been snowing a lot over there, Yeeah Haa!

Kaj have told me Kask Norway is on the move, and that the new Base layer kicks ass, we have some great orders already on the one piece, the same one I have been skiing in every day so far this winter, good choice my dear neighbours in the west!

wow we just finished a great trade show here at ISPO MUNICH 4 days of crazy busy meetings. It was nice to finally show our new base layer system in 100 % merino that we worked on for a couple of years. The 3rd goggle line was very well recepted so that felt great.

Oslo the winter city, last night i got some skiing in the Tryvann skiresort its pretty cool to get such good slopes and park almost in the town. We carved in wuller løypa and tried our skills on some jumps. I better go back againg to get some more training on those jumps:-)

Now Im in the alps again. Photo week with SOS, great snow and great company!

We are staying at the world famous Ski Lodge Engelberg, and the service is great as usual. Most riders from the swedish freeride community is here, like Henrik Windstedt, Reine Barkered, Erik Sunnerheim, Wille Lindberg, Adam Widen, Christine Hargin and more, great pep for the upcoming weekends competition in St Moritz :-)

We just watched the mens slalom race from Schladming on big screen, 4 swedes in the top ten, grrreat!

Wow our roadtrip through Japan gave us a lot of cool memories our friends Daisuke and Maki made it possible for us to enjoy Japan in such a local way. Besides skiing in powder to the waist everyday on new resorts we got to see tempels, local food in all kinds, hotsprings (one new every day), monkeys taking a hotspring bath and meeting a lot of funny and kind people. We also visited our Kask shop in shop in the H+ store in Sapporo, they had organised an event so we met around 30 kask fans that we skied powder with.

Igår var det finaler i Slopestyle och jag var med i damernas freeski! Det var 6 stycken som hade gått vidare till finalen och startfältet var tufft med stora namn.

Vädret var som på lördagen, snöigt och blåsigt.. Så det var alltså riktigt dålig fart och var lite på lotto om man kom över hoppen eller inte, berodde lite på om vinden tog en eller inte! Men var i alla fall lika för alla :)

Jag hade två åk på mig att visa vad jag gick för.

I went up to Åre last weekend, to have some nice Kask meetings and also to test out the slopes. I feel so psyced now when I can ski again, and the knee seems to hold togehter really well :-)

The snow situation up here in Scandinavia is really good, the pists are great and its been pretty cold all over the place. Im sure a lot of rails has been put under the belt in some really cool places around in Stockholm, looking forward to view it soon. Have a look at what my SOS team mate Adam Falk has been up to lately at their film from Winter Project!

Anyway, besides the film here is also some nice pics from my day in Åre :-)

So, after a few days of skiing and working I left Austria. Sölden was great, and the future for freeriding seems to be secure, a lot of cool stuff coming out of the Nordica factory anyway!

Here in Stockholm its cold and big winter, Im at the office packing all the Kask sale samples for 2011/2012, this will be delivered to our distributorns next week.

Im really proud of what we have done for the coming year, and also stoked the shops are now full of Kask stuff like beanies, goggles socks and sweathers :-)

Hello from Sölden, Austria!

18th of april Kaj and I was in Tulsequah for filming, and that trip ended in a bad crash for me, I blew my ACL and meniscous.

Back in Stockholm I had surgery 2nd of june, so now, soon to be 6 month after that, and hours of rehab in the gym and on the bike, I tried skiing for the first time yesterday.

Im in Sölden for a Nordica meeting, and yes, the knee seems to hold together very nice!

Stockholm is a really nice place to live in, if you like fishingfor an example!

A few days ago I went out with some friends and a fishing-guide to try to get some trout.

I also did som Kask product testing, and my new winter cap fulfilled all my needs, and also helped me to bring this beauty into the boat, a 4,1 kg trout. It was a great fight with some major airs, before I could get the lure out of its mouth, take a picture and let it go back into the water again.

I like fishing :-)

Last week it was snowing like crazy in Stockholm. Everything was turning white, for about two days anyway :-)

You can never know what to expect this time of the year. Anyway, I talked to a friend over the phone, and he told me to go to www.surfsverige.se to view what he and his friends had been up to.

I find this film amazing and proud of what you can do up here in Sweden at this time of the year.

As always when we visit Bergen the sun was shining we had a morning stroll threw town, Christian got a flashback from an earlier gourmet dinner at the China restaurant, i just remembering him looking deep into the toilet!! First stop was the new profiled freeride shop Drop. Carmen showed us an impressive range of fatskis and twintips and of course El Dictator was charging in the middle, YEA.

On our way out we swung by Platou fjøsanger and said hi to Margot and the boys then we left the coast and started our way back to Oslo threw fjords and the mountain pass Hardanger vidda.

The last stop on our roundabout was in Geilo, i said hi to Øystein at Sport 1. Then it was pedal to the metal and right now we are passing the slopes of Kirkerud 20 km to Oslo, thanks for nice driving Christian although your seats really suchs,,,, and now they smell like shiiiiii,,,

Early bird sunshine at the coast, first stop was Platou sport in Sandnes loaded with good quality gear, Oddbjörn & Steinar were dreaming of pow skiing coming up this winter and i got a few minutes discussing meaning of life with the legend Ragnar. Then we headed into Stavanger with its old part of wooden houses and pittoresque atmosphere, here we had a nice graceland chocalate like Elvis would have had it:-) Then we saw an amazing wall of skateboards in the Session store and of course the Sweet protection helmets fulfilled the standard. After that the course was set to Platou sport Bergen the scenery was amazing and after two ferries and a niste we arrived just in time for our night in platou, we held a slideshow about the trip me and Sverre did to Canada last spring filiming for TBE and Matchstick. Right now feets high in bed.

Time for a new round trip to some nice Kask dealers in telemark/stavanger/bergen/geilo, today we got beautiful views on long winding roads, we saw the historical heave water factory in Rjukan from the world war 2, then we met Kari & Tobias in Hovden, they were re-modelling the Lagg shop in the resort for the opening the 20th of nov, good vibes and smiles. We got to see a lot of snow making everywhere and Röldal ski resort by night. Arriving very much to late to find good food we had to suffer the Hotel Buffet for the nice price of 250 NOK, bummer,,,,

wow yes winter is here Hemsedal opened up the resort this weekend, mostly man made snow so far but the slopes were good with a solid snow pack. i enjoyed my GS skis and got some speed feeling in my veins again, super nice. On the aprés ski i met a kask mask ripper:-)

Wow i just so one of the best movies ever in our genre. Jeremy Jones has worked on his dream project for two years and now he is touring around Europe showing it, tonight in Stockholm. The concept is to get deeper into the mountain range, for sure thats what he is doing as well they put up tents on glaciers staying out there for 3 to 4 weeks at the time, touring to amazing spine lines. You have to see it!!!!

We woke up in Trondheim with 10 cm of fresh pow on the ground, yea winter is getting here and it s about time!!! Visited sport extreme in the morning a super nice core shop with a good mix of brands and Ståle had everything ready for eager customers. Heading south to Oppdal we were plowing threw the new snow. Arriving to the VPG shop the boys were super happy to have some snow on the mountains and you could tell everyone is happy to see winter coming. Trygve had the best coffe to offer so far on the trip and also a good pose for our blog. Then we finished of with our last stop on the tour at Intersport lillehammer a crazy open night with running customers threw the entrance chasing the best offers. Yea now we´re driving back to Oslo thank you Christian for an awesome trip.

The Norwagian roadtrip continued from Molde to Trondheim, the rain hammered down on us from all sides but we managed to stay on the road and visit some awesome stores along the way. First stop was at the end of the road in kårvatn, the most spectacular shop i have ever seen, an old barn remodeled in top shape. After eating the local pancakes we continued to Trondheim and had a look in Ute på tur store where they got ready for winter and had the store jammed with fresh gear. after fueling up with more pancakes we moved on to Sportsbua for a winter kickoff night met some nice customers tried our sales skills which ended up in more of talking to the cool ski crew that worked there, Yea nice day that ended with sushi:-)

Today i got guided threw a bit of Norway, my friend Kongla picked me up in Oslo then we drove north, after a lot of shitty coffe we passed the troll wall then the we came out to the fjords and the coast line. We visited some nice Kask stores & met some cool people in Ålesund and Molde. And yea it is a blast to see this crazy nature, beautiful and wild, have to come back for some skiing on these 222 peaks.

As we are learning more and more about materials and we know from our days in the mountains what we really want to wear when we ski or just live our active outdoor life. It was an awesome oppurtunity for me to go to Stryn and visit the parents to Mari, Berit and Jörgen who are herding the sheeps in a pretty crazy and wonderful area. We got to be part of gathering the sheeps in to the barn and count and weigh the lambs. To get them in there it was small adventures and for sure a hard long day of work, but it felt good to see where the tough wool comes from. To you I can just say look out for new interesting Merino products from Kask. Bääää Bääää

Last winter I had the good experience to work with photographer Oskar Enander. I have known Oskar for a few years now, and since he lives in Switzerland and I was about to ski in Engelberg, we hooked up in early january to catch the beautiful light that only exists that early of the year.

One good result from these days shooting was this picture, and this took Oskar to the final in this years Red Bull Illume photo contest.

22.764 pictures was sent to this competition, and to make it to the final is amazingly well done, congrats Oskar!

Hola bandola!

After crossing Sweden in pretty much all directions the last few month, visiting friends and family, taking care of my broken knee with rehab and relaxing, Kask are now entering a really interesting time.

Next week we will get most of the samples for NEXT year, I mean 2011-2012. This is always super exiting to see all the new products, colours, shapes and so on.

At the same time, in the end of this month, all of THIS YEARS news will arrive, and we will spend day and night re-packing and sending it out to all our distributors and shops.

If everything are running smoth then the Kask stuff will be in shops in September!

What a great summer! May started out with a lot of work with Kask, me and Sverre designed the new stuff for 2011, day and night we created new hats goggles socks and merino clothing, it will be a lot of surprises from us in the near future. Then June came and i visited my wife in Buenos Aires she was at work while i could cruise the streets. It was nice with some city days before we headed to the beaches of Brazil for some relaxing.

After that we went to south of France to see our happiest funniest skier Thomas Diet Bichon get married to his Delfhine. It was a very memorable wedding on her family's vineyard from the 11th century, thanks for a great party.

July i am staying in Oslo organizing our new Kask office, I am still on the rehab programme for my neck and shoulder so doing my best to come back in shape going to the gym every day. In the weekend i am getting introduced in the Norwegian culture of going to HYTTA (vacation house), its been awesome eating seefood fishing and swimming in the cold ocean.

Midsummer

Hi!

In Sweden we have a big tradition around midsummer, people are partying like crazy. So I went to Norway. It´s a really cool drive to Stryn, where we met up with some friend that now lives there. Great food, great company, the sun was hidden from the rainy clouds, but that was still super nice!

Now Im back in Stockholm, and since the Kask crew is spread out all over Scandinavia, we are working on our own, and via phone and Skype of course, building energy for the fall. Soon the new Kask products will arrive in our HQ, ready to be shipped out to the shops in time for the cold.

But now it´s focus on holiday and sunshine :-)

Hey Whats up in the summer time. I have been recovering from a big winter of skiing i reached all my goals to have fun on my skis and win some comps! In the end i pushed little bit to hard and went over the bars a few times, injured my neck and shoulder. I am recovering good and have just been on a two week holiday in Brazil, the warm weather speeded up the healing, got back on some bike training yesterday so that is great.

Hello.

After Canada I had some knee problems, and went to the doctor. They could find out that I had broken my MCL and Meniscus, so I had to do surgery last week.

It takes about 6 month to be back 100% so Im chilling at home this summer, and will be ready to ski again in december.

Kaj & I have been doing lots of Kask designs the last three weeks, so Im really excited to se the first samples coming to our Kask office in Stockholm within the following weeks, I think it's gonna be sick :-D

Now we have some pics from this epic Kask/Swatch/Salomon/Nordica to Tulsequah. Alexander Klun was our photographer on this trip, following me and Kaj.

Together with Richard Permin and Philip Meier photographer Dom Daher did the same thing.

This trip was not just an heli ski trip, it was an adventure! We were the first group for the year skiing with the Kluane Helicopters, and pilot Bill flew us way out there.

The mountains is pretty crazy in this region, and we really had to watch out from getting in trouble, its far from civilisation. Snow was changing all the time, and we skied everything from ice to waist deep pow. Here is some pics for you, I hope it will inspire you people for the next winter :-)

Yo yo yo, now we are back from the wilderness ;-). After a great and pretty crazy trip Im in Stockholm again. Kaj is in Oslo.

We have been skiing some amazing lines, giving all our best to the big mountains over there.

Now it's time to recover and to get ready for the next adventure... Here is a nice little lunch break we had up in "Tulsa".

After travelling around and doing competition and skiing the resorts all over the alps are we now packing our bags for an amazing trip to north western canada. We will be living in an old mining village and fly heli from there. Filming for Matchstick and our own documentary movie that we are starting on now. More reports and movies will follow. Now we moved on to the Dolomites when we arrived it was dumping so yesterday we stayed in the trees skiing pillows and powder which was totally amazing. Today the sun came out here in San martino di castrazzo so we could go to the top and had some nice turns in the sun. The dolomites are very impressive with their steep crazy looking peaks, its for sure a must visit for all skiers.

Hi folks!

Now we are in the second week of our tour de alps. So far we've been in some different places, mostly we have hade a lot of sunshine and not too much powder. Still we have had some really good times.

At the moment we are sitting in the café of Nangijala in Disentis and look at the snow falling from the sky nicely. So perhaps our powder dancing has been registered. We’re going to be down in the Alps to March 15.

Have not been skiing any quite spectacular yet, but have a few days with some small drops and some crashing.
Sending some photos that one of the guys we have traveled with have taken, he do not work as a photographer, but learned, however, that when you run the rocks are gray clothes may not be the smartest! So the next time it is photo time I take my colorful clothes out.

After skiing Squaw a couple of days, it was time for the the 3rd stop of the freerideworldtour.

We were supposed to ski the Tram face, but it was scstchy condisions there and a big slide, so we couldnt go there this time.

Sweden was killing it this event, Henrik won, Reine 3rd, Kaj 5th and myself ended up 9th.

Ispo Tradeshow wow it was a lot of talking going on but really stoked people and good wibes so we had a nice time. It was cool for us to be back and present our line for the export markets. Harrods department store from London visited our booth and tasted our Hotdogs and choosed their Kask range for next year.

Im down in the alps for some freeride comps, but the first one was cancelled due to bad weather :-(. Then I went to St Moritz and skied the Engadin Snow, but crasched... Shit happens, now Im back in Engelberg riding every day, great! Today Im resting since I crasched my eye in the knee yesterday, so Im down resting with a hurting knee and a pretty stiff neck...

Yesterday the postponed russian adventure happened in Chamonix on La Flegere. It was perfect conditions with packed powder and sunshine on the short but very versitile face. The whole field skied really good and cliffs and tricks were thrown down in style. I was super happy with my run and got 5th place, Sverre skied a nice steep line with big double drop and finished off with a backflip he got 6th place. Now we pack our car and head for ispo trade show our Kask booth is in Hall A3 stand 309 if you are there see you!

Freerideworldtour

Finally we got to do the first stop in the Freerideworldtour. The skies cleared up and we had some new powder on the face in Brevent.
The first riders took away a lot of the powder though and left some icy spots for the later riders. This made it very challenging, but we were strong in our heads and gave full throttle. I finished second after the legendary Candide thovex, Sverre had a very unique line on the top and jumped a huge cliff but made a small mistake in the end and finished 7th.
Our Kaskfriend Mitch toelderer won the snowboard class in his stylish Kask mask goggles.

This week we will have one more competition here in Chamonix, its the russian event that is postponed to here. It will happen first sunny day so hopefully tomorrow.

Hi

Now are we in Cham again. Kaj and I had a great day skiing up at Hellbrunner in the Mt Blanc massive yesterday, so nice! Long run all the way down to the tunnel on the italian side, then driving thru the tunnel back to Chamonix for a great lunch at Chambre neuf with friends. Great day!
Now we are waiting for the first competition day, hopefully saturday, go to FWT to follow the program.

So, here we are in Sochi again, for the 3rd time in three years. I was traveling in Switzerland in early january, and Kaj was in Chamonix, now we hooked up for the first stop of the freerideworldtour, here in Russia.
Its great to be here, to hook up with friends and get ready for the event, here in the picture its Kaj, me, Jon Örarbäck and Jerk Looman, the original Swedish Posse :-)
But it's a little bit hard to know what will happen now with the event, it has been raining to the top for two days, and its really not so much snow as it usually is here in the resort of Krasnaya Polyana... I will keep my fingers crossed for snow and hopefully at least one run for the comp later in the week.

ANTARCTICA A TRIP OF A LIFE TIME.

Stian and I just returned to chamonix after a long journey back to Chamonix from Antarctica. I have started to look through some of the images and diary entries from my time down in Antarctica and it was truly a trip of a life time, my best trip ever! We had so much luck with the weather with the majority of our time down there was sunny so we got a lot of skiing in. The team was awesome, it was great to be in the mountains with Chris Davenport and Stian and we all worked really well with the camera crew, which have come back with so many awesome images from our time there.

Antarctica has so much going for it, it is so remote and far away that it remains a hidden gem, the beauty and uniqueness of this place is difficult to compare to anything I have seen before. The mountain range on the Antarctic Peninsula is so extensive and vast it was not easy to choose where to go. And we were able to find runs that allowed us to ski to the ocean floor. We also saw lots of wildlife, whales, dolphins, penguins and seals. And not to mention the icebergs, they were unlimited, even coming into hassel the boat while we were sleeping.

I feel so lucky to have been able to travel down with such a great boat- the Australis which is skippered by two awesome hosts which made our trip very special. They took on almost all our requests and made them happen and to add to this Skye took great care of us and cooked outstanding meals every night.

I have come away from this trip with a new energy for skiing. From the ski descents I have done down there I found myself challenged on some very steep and icy terrain and had such a great rush from being able to keep my head together and overcome my fear and get up and down safely on some really exposed terrain. I found that all my years in the mountains were put to a test down in Antarctica. As this place is so remote there was no room for error.

It has put me in a new frame of mind of want to ski in the future. I really enjoy the challenges that I faced both on the approach climbing up and with and the rush that you get from the accomplishments of getting down safely. I have to admit that my husband Stian took great care of me looking out for all the small details and his confidence in me helped me enormously. And to be out there with Chris Davenport was awesome, we made a great team. We have all walked away with so many incredible images- what a great way to begin the winter. The film and magazine stories are going to be awesome.

I will be putting up my diary entries from the peaks we skied up on my website and I have attached some of the amazing shots that we got from Antarctica that we took down there.

Feels good to be back on skiis again. I went up to Tandådalen for the skitest weekend and then visited my sister in Trysil.
A lot of actvities during the week. Except from really nice skiing, I tried the flowrider, practised some gymnastics, had a bath, and of course some sauna, the gym, and baking Norwegian "Stomp" bread=) my sister are kind of hyperactive, and at the moment I have quiet sore muscles.

Back in town and apart from a computer crash I'm in good mood and finally I have one ihpone!!!

Had a strange experience this week, went to London with Swatch for a fashion shoot, they are doing a new campaign and i guess they believe my big nose fits the watches. It was the photographer Ian Rankin who took the shots and around him it was 20 assistants holding flashes manuevring the computers or fixing hair styles or makeup. It was cool to see how they work with the models, and kind of weird posing myself,,,

Shit happens!

Second day of jumping didn't went very well. It went pretty good in the begining of the day, and then I slammed.
I broked my left collarbone and got some scratches on the lungs. The lung thing scared me a little bit but It wasn't so big deal with It as I thought. So now I must wait about 3-4weeks until the bone have healed, then I'm fit for fight again. So now It stands 1-0 to Bad luck, It SUCKS so hard! I recieved this pic from my surfing, kiting and speedboating friend Mårten Björnsson. Now the autumn storms are starting hitting swedish coast, and surfing is picking up. It's getting a little bit colder, but in a Kask Wool Zip Hood you stay warm and cozy when chillin and preparing for your next session :-). Yea we are back from a great ski trip in Argentina. Seb Michaud invited me and Sverre to be part of his invitational happening in Carron Grande, which is a mountain hut in a basic style with hotsprings just outside the door. At first the snow was hard and icy but then a storm came threw and gave us some powder. We finished of with two great days and it felt unreal to ski big lines in powder in the summer year, yihaa. Then we had a classic Assado with Meat and wine.
Now we are back at the work going threw the products for 10-11, fun working.

May may what a month, first i got my spring depression as always when the season comes to an end. Its something weird with pushing so hard for half a year and suddenly its just over. Then i got into to skiing on Aiguille in chamonix and renovating my kitchen and of course Kask got a good grip on me with all the work it takes in a small company. Right now me and sverre are deep into designing the line for season 10-11, a lot of new styles and for sure crazy colours on toques(beanies) goggles socks shirts wool sweathers and YES we will come up with more products in the new line. yepp yepp hepp hepp talk to you soon

Today we flew some heli in Borgafjäll. The day was epic, sooo beautiful up here! Snow was pretty hard, but still ok for riding some nice steep lines, here Johan Jonsson caught my first decent with his camera. He went out after me, and BOOM there went the whole face down behind him, pretty scary, but he skied out with no hesitation... Fredagen: första tävlingsdagen vilken bjöd på friåkning. Fransmänen visste vad dem gjorde, så de var ju många bra åkare med. Dock var de sjukt mkt flatljus så de var svårt att se alla små knölar och sånt, men jag lyckades krångla ner mig och så pass att de blev en 2a placering :)
Lördagen: då var de en sorts "safty day" där vi fick mer lärdom om Recco systemet och hur vi använde trencivers och sonder. Så de var lärorikt! de var även skitväder den dagen...
Söndag: och park, de var snöigt och dimmigt redan på morgonen, men vi åkte iaf. vi satt och väntade, tillsist så sprack de upp men de var bara tjejorna och kidsen som hann köra. då bestämde dom att teensen och vi kings skulle separera på tävlingarna och ta ut 1,2,3 för park resp friåkningen... vilket vissa tyckte var bra, vissa mindre bra...
Måndag: Park och blue bird heeela dagen, de var sjukt skönt häng i parken, hoppen bra och nivån hög! Men de gick även där bra, slutade på en 3e plats, så jag är nöjd :)

Oh yea we got one more sunny day. The snow was amasing and we enjoyed every moment, this was what I´ve been dreaming about. We skied everything from long spines to short aggressive lines with cliffs. Finally the Sun arrived to Valdez and we got up in the mountains and skied a full day. We got seven runs in each and i think we got some really nice shots, because snow conditions were good as well as Me and Daisuke:-) On this picture Daisuke has just skied The Doctor Jones line, huge spines with a lot of sluf but he managed it all super nice. Now we´re jumping to bed and hopes are for one more sunny day.

I am hangin out downtown Valdez Alaska, I´ve been here for 5 days and yet no skiing. Its been snowing for three days so if it clears up it could be all time. My days are filled with Kask work on the computer or drawing sketches for the beanies coming 10-11 season. Of course i try to workout at least one time a day so when that sunny day comes i will be on my toes and ready to ski as hard as i want = jamming rasta viking:-) I´ll let you know what we get. I would also like to thank mcConkey for being the man he was, of course one of our most shining ski stars ever but also one of the greatest personalities I´ve ever met, thanks and keep on smiling where ever you are shane.

FWT finals in Verbier

This weekend it was the finals on the Freeride World Tour, with the respectful run at the Bec de Rosses.
Condisions was not 100%, a lot of sugary snow and sharp rocks, but the show was still pretty sick, and in the ski divison Aurelien Ducroz did it the best. After winning this comp, he was also crowned Men's Ski World Champion! Big up's for Aurelien, one of our Kask friends!
The Kask team was not bad, I ended up 3rd overall in the ski, Marja Persson skied solid the whole year, finishing 2nd overall. Kaj was 7th in Verbier, and that made him qualified for the next years, top 12 ski men are in from the rankings. In the snowboard Mitch Toelderer from Austria had a wild card for Verbier, and he really took the oportunity this time. With his KASK MASK GOGGLES he was riding like crazy with one of the best lines of the day, finishing 2nd after this years unstopable Xavier de le Rue, who won.

Kaj is looking for his line at the FWT comp in Tignes... Not easy, there were almost more rock than snow at the Grand Balme this year... Unfourtunately there was some really scary accidents to, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for Jenatte Hargin SWE and Adrien Corier FRA that really ate some rock... I had a crash as well, but I hope to be back in shape again soon... Mathias "Hauni" Haunholder won the mens ski, god job! Henrik Windstedt landed 3rd and Kaj 4th, great skiing swedes! Girls ski was won by Caroline Meynet FRA, and friend Marja Persson SWE 2nd, yea haa! Now me and Kaj went to Chamonix for rehab and some office work, then off for the finals in Verbier next week. Now we are in Tignes/france for the third stop on the freerideworldtour. On sunday we inspected the competition face but since then it has been snowstorm, so we are on a hold. Hopefully it happens on thursday but maybe friday. In the meantime we are skiing in the clouds and working out at the gym in the nights.

Powder day! The competition day 2 didn't happen, but the snow came... 6 feet in two days! We skied some epic powder, and that was a great finish of this trip! Here is Kaj outside our cabin in the morning. We stayed at Jamie and Peggy Townsend's place, really great :-D. This day we skied from 9am-4pm, after that a nice apreski at the legendary Chamois, in the Village.

Hello again! Now it's decided, there will not be another run at the FWT here in Squaw Valley California. This means that our friend Reine Barkered is the champion this time, big UP for him! This is the 6th time in a row there is a swedish winner in these FWT events, yea-haa! Henrik Windstedt and Marja Persson ended up 2nd, also great, and I was 9th. I had some wonderful weeks of powder skiing around in the alps. Started out 10 days in Champoluc/Grassoney area filming for Match stick. It was mostly snowstorm so we had a great time skiing the deep pow in the trees. The next 10 days we continued the trip with Salomon freeski tv and visited Grimentz, Grindelwald, Murren, Adelboden, it was dumping pretty much all the time and it must have been one of my best powder trips ever:-) We rounded of the trip with a drive to the Pyrenees to see if we could get up higher in the alpine and ski some lines. Unfortunately we arrived 3 days to late for the good snow, it was windpacked all over, but we got some nice turns and we saw a new mountain range, thats worth 2000km for a weekend, oh yea. Kaj

Hello! I went to the Quest competition in Fieberbrunn, Austria, this weekend. It was a great event, everybody in the organisation had made a great job, I had lots of fun! Good snow and a great face, we skied the Marokka. My friend Jeanette Hargin won the womens skiing event, and I had another podium, finished third this time. After the prizegiving cermoni I had to leave for a photoshoot in Switzerland, but the great guy's at the organisation gave me a whole box of their own Fieberbrunn FWT Quest Beer for the trip, so big up for Berni and da boys :-)

Now we are together in Russia, Sochi, at the ski resort Krasnaya Polyana. This is the first Freeride World Tour stop for 2009. For the second time in two years, I just ran into a really good skiing friend of mine, Dan Treadway. He was on his yearly trip to Switzerland, this time together with Matty Richard and Damian Cromwell. We hooked up for a day, went out to ski a run called "Galtenberg", pretty cool terrain with sick rock walls surrounding us. Snow was pretty shitty but fun anyways. The canucks left me in the afternoon for a photoshoot in an ice cave, hottubbing.., and then we met again in the bar later, thanks yo for a sick day! The 3 gentlemen left us today, heading for Italy and hopefully better snow, looking great in their new Kask beanies ;-). Saturday I went to Stockholm Stadium for this years biggest snow event, LG Winter Jam. Snowboarders n Skiers kicked ass, the condisions was great and it was actually snowing this night as well, not that common in nov anymore... Anyway things was great, and in the skiing section the Scandinavians kicked ass, Jon Olsson was 2nd after the best man of the evening, PK Hunder from Norway! Roadtrip

Last week we did an awesome roadtrip starting in Rättvik sweden driving west to Norway. Car was loaded with bikes, skis, surfboards, wetsuits, skateboards, tent and sleeping bags. 1st day we did downhill biking in Gesunda, super good fun trails, second day we tried out rafting in sjoa which was nice. Day 3 we entered the bigger mountains in Stryn and went up on the glacier for a couple of turns, icy. Then we moved on to the grande finale, the Atlantic ocean for surfing, weather was on our side and we surfed into sunset. Everything was captured by our friend Jerk Looman and will be a tv-show on packat & klart to the spring.

We are happy to announce the Winner of the best beanie design at our Carl Larsson work shop earlier this summer. We got a lot of good designs but the outstanding winner was Matilda WesslÃ©n 10 years of age. We totally loved Matilda's drawing of the slime monster and we are now making a prototype. Hopefully Matilda will like it when its transfered into a beanie, we will present it here soon.

Back in Winter! I went down to Chile with the Salomon team to test out some new skis. We went deep into the Andes, lived at a family farm far from everything. In the mornings we went with 4x4 trucks up threw the forest to the snow, from there we went with snowmobiles to the peaks. By hiking and sledding we reached mountains never skied before, we were also super lucky with the conditions, powder and a couple of sunny days made it a great adventure. Live a little/kaj

Ak first day

We woke up to a perfect day with blue sky and no wind. We went out in the heli early morning to start looking for good runs, it looked easy with all the beautiful mountains, but it was not. The days before we arrived it had been hard winds which had hammered the snow into hardpack. We flew really deep into the mountain range and found some good stuff. In my first run i had great powder, on the top stomped a cliff and then straight lined out, second run I found my way threw a really cool and steep glacier although the snow was shitty. Third run I lined up a little bit more difficult line, it all looked like good powder snow and the first turns was great but then the snow got harder and harder. Jumping a cliff in the middle I gained to much speed in the landing and got out of control trying to slow down. I did some ballet moves and in the end i twisted my knee badly. That was it for me I packed my things and flew back home to see a knee specialist.

Finally itÂ´s time for the highlight of the year, a trip to AK and valdez. I flew in this morning and it was sunny and beautiful and the weather report looks great for tomorrow so we will get out there and see what the snow is like. I went visiting Chamonix last week, and it was great! Snowing a lot, so I went out one day with friend and great photographer Alex Klun.
In Le Tour we skied all day, together with Stian Hagen, and made some nice left/right turns :-).
After that a 3 course lunch in Argentiere, back home to grab the flash and up to Brevent, where we tried for hours to get the evening light. This pic shows the 5 min of light we got, then the clouds came in... But for sure it was a magic moment up there, all by our selves, and it was for sure worth the hike back down in the dark!

Our kask friend Asle Tangvik took February off from his work at Sykkeldelisk in Oslo. He went to Zillertal Austria and was lucky with good weather and powder. Asle did some filming with the SchnabelkÃ¤se productions so we are looking forward to see his part to the fall. Yea, Kask Mask team rocked the Verbier Xtreme totally on saturday. Henrik Windstedt became World Champion by winning the whole tour. Last week the Kask Mask Team skied in the bigmountain pro. The week started out supernice with first a crazy big run in chamonix and then directly day after another run outside verbier which was more narly and rocky but cool. After that the pow snow was finished and so the comp. We did really good, from left on picture, David 10th (snowboard), Sverre 9th, Henke 5th (leader of the world tour) Kaj(behind camera) 1st place so you can easily say that the kask mask kicks ass, tjihoo.

Yea Finally I got a great day of powderskiing, I went to Hemsedal norway this weekend and the snow laid deep and dry on the mountain. I was guided by locals around in gummiskogen all day and it was awesome skiing the famous threeruns. It is still snowing in Hemsedal so if you get a chance, go there.

Hi! Just came back from a great surf trip in France. It was my friend Eric at X Travel who organized the trip, and the setup was sick! The other week I ran into one of the sickest skiers around on this planet, Max. Max is 4 years old and kick ass on his skis, snowboard and skate. Here he is testing out the new Kask goggle and helmet in Riksgränsen!

Hello folks! Here Im testing our new fresh products for this coming fall, our HELMETS, Sick!

We are very proud to present this multi purpouse helmet in two colors, Green and Black.

For the winter "mode" there is a special padded Kask beanie that comes with the helmet. Then for summer, You just change the beanie to padding of Your choice.

Also the Goggle is new, and comes in two matching colors, what more can u ask for!?

Actually, both me and Kaj have been testing this products during the winter, and we are stoked, hopefully we can sell some as well so we can develop new ones, in more colors! ;-)

In late april me and Kaj will go sailing with some friends in northern Norway, at the Lyngen alps. We have planned this for a year now, and it´s a dream comming true.

The boat leaves from Tromsö the 21:th and we are bringing food, beer, skis, skins, surfboards, fishing rods, everything! Then we just take the boat up the fjords to the most nice mountains, skin up and ski down.
